The sports media and technology convention SPORTEL Monaco came and went last week following a one-year hiatus due to COVID-19. Held at the Grimaldi Forum from October 5th to the 7th, the event continued a year-long partnership between SPORTEL Monaco and Esports Insider, which saw them host the SPORTEL Plus series and the ESI Digital series earlier this year.
“When the opportunity arose to work with SPORTEL Monaco for its upcoming convention, it was a very easy decision to make,” said Esports Insider Managing Director and Co-Founder, Sam Cooke. “Providing an esports flavor within traditional sporting conventions is a great way to provide non-endemic entities with a chance to experience current topics within esports.
Topics at the convention included Traditional Sports vs. Esports Crossover, Differing Data Challenges in Sports and Esports, and much more.
SPORTEL’s esports session speakers included representatives from companies such as ESL, BLAST, Riot Games, Webedia, GRID, Sportradar, Infront, Swipe Right PR, Nielsen, and Esports Charts. In addition, SPORTEL Monaco’s program also included a session on the rise of the LFL, France’s European Regional League of Legends competition.
