On October 13th, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards and video game industry executive Jeff Strain announced the launch of Possibility Space. This program aims to create a large-scale video game development studio in Louisiana.
Possibility Space will create 75 new jobs in the state. The Louisiana Economic Development organization believes that this will lead to the indirect creation of 90 additional jobs in the Southeastern United States for a total of 165 jobs.
“The arrival of Possibility Space further secures our standing as a leader in interactive entertainment development, which continues to offer high-paying tech jobs for Louisiana residents,” Gov. Edwards said. “With an industry innovator such as Jeff Strain at the helm, this project could be a game-changer for video game development in Louisiana. We welcome Possibility Space as we continue to expand this exciting sector of our economy.”
Possibility Space is just one of the many additions recently made to Louisiana’s interactive entertainment cluster. Some of the other organizations that have joined the initiative include inXile, a Microsoft Xbox Game Studio, High Voltage Software, Testronic, Turbosquid, and Electronic Arts.
