Action Begins In The “Mobile Legends” Varsity Cup

The Collegiate Center of Esports (CCE) recently launched a Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament series in the Philippines. The Mobile Legends Varisty Cup officially kicked off on November 10th.

Varsity athletes from ten different major colleges will duke it out in this collegiate esports tournament. Some of the schools represented include Arellano University, De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, San Beda Collega, Mapua University, University of Perpetual Help – Delta, San Sebastian College, Emilio Aguinaldo College, Jose Rizal University, Letran College, and Lyceum of the Philippines University.

“Esports is the future. it will be the biggest sport in the world in this decade. We believe that esports is not as different as basketball. Sports is a growing aspect. It is a new platform of showcase of deserving students,” said Edward Chiong, the CCE president, in a virtual briefing.

At this time, all CCE events will be held virtually. However, the organization has already had conversations to hold tournaments in person once COVID-19 restrictions weaken. There are also plans to add more titles beyond Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
