Was “Red Dead Redemption 3” Leaked?

A Rockstar employee might have leaked Red Dead Redemption 3 on his LinkedIn page. The Lead AI and gameplay programmer put on his page that he was “leading vehicle AI team through development of RDR3 and other projects.” This caught the attention of many who are wondering whether the hit cowboy open-world game will be coming out before GTA 6.

While Red Dead Redemption 3 is inevitable, this could have just been a typo. Considering the description mentions Red Dead Redemption 2 by name elsewhere, it is possible. However, combing your LinkedIn for typos, errors, and, especially, removing any sensitive information you might divulge, seems like something you’d want to take care of.

If the description on the LinkedIn page isn’t a typo, it means work on Red Dead Redemption 3 began not long after Red Dead Redemption 2 was released. Rockstar Games’ open-world western hit back in October of 2018. According to this Rockstar Games programmer, they’ve been working on vehicle AI for “RDR3” and other projects since 2019, assuming this was written somewhat recently.

As always, we will keep you updated as more pertinent information comes in, including any type of comment from the employee or Rockstar Games as a whole. In the meantime, take everything here with a major grain of salt. Again, Red Dead Redemption 3 is bound to happen, and while some type of pre-production work may be underway, this description makes it sound like the game is well past the conceptual stage, which seems very unlikely.
