Pokemon Executives Working On Expanding The Reach Of Games

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl were recently released worldwide for the Nintendo Switch on November 19th. While the game has received many positive reviews, The Pokemon Company recognizes the need for a more challenging and sophisticated Pokemon game that caters to the needs of older gamers.

“We hear it. And I think the creators definitely understand that there’s a desire for maybe something,” J.C. Smith, the director of consumer marketing at The Pokémon Company, told Axios. “But we try to focus on making the core accessible to everyone.”

Smith also added that the company is attempting to “make sure that all the generations are getting some attention.” He said it is important that each generation is represented on modern gaming platforms.

A new video game that breaks the mold of the traditional Pokemon playstyle is expected to be released by The Pokemon Company next year. This action role-playing game, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, will hit stores worldwide on January 28th, 2022.
