As announced by Ubisoft, the EU Finals will take place over the two weekends of December 11th-12th and the 18th-19th. This event will see the EUCL grand-final and the EUL relegation match decide which teams will join the EU League for the 2022 season.
The finals will take place on December 11th and the grand-final, as well as the third-place playoff, will be on the 19th. All matches will be best-of-three except for the grand-final, which is best-of-five. While the tournament was originally planned to be a LAN event, it is unclear if that’s still the case.
The top four teams across 2021’s three EUL stages will be competing in a single-elimination bracket for a shot at the lion’s share of a $132,588 prize pool. The teams competing are as follows:
- BDS Esports – Shaiiko, Renshiro, RaFaLe, Elemzje, and BriD
- Team Empire – ShepparD, JoyStiCK, Scyther, Dan, and Always
- Natus Vincere – Saves, Doki, Blurr, Secretly, and Nathan
- G2 Esports – Jonka, Hungry, CTZN, Virtue, and Kayak
The two favorites will be BDS and Team Empire after they both had strong LAN showings earlier this year. December 12th will see the best-of-five map European Challenger League grand-final between MnM Gaming and Hellraisers, the winner of which will replace Heroic in the EUL for the 2022 Season. Following this on December 18th the loser will face Team Secret in another best-of-five match with another EUL spot up for grabs:
- Team Secret – pacbull, SlebbeN, Gomfi, Keenan, and Kendrew
- MnM Gaming – Yuzus, Tyrant, neLo, Solotov, and Neonical
- HellRaisers – SmashByAsh, flaers0, eXoduSS, rush, and Amision
