The Epic Games Store is expanding with the introduction of the cloud gaming service, Antstream Arcade. This platform allows users to play classic video games such as Pac-man, Space Invaders, Earthworm Jim, and Mortal Kombat for free. The library features over 1,200 games, all from the 1980s and 1990s.
The launching of Antstream Arcade follows the announcement that Atari invested $500,000 into the cloud gaming service, which could potentially increase to $3.5 million in the future.
Epic Games has already added other marketplaces to its store, most notably with Itch.io back in April. Remember that this is a cloud gaming platform, so a strong internet connection is a must. If you’re intrigued by AntStream but can’t handle the stark user experience of the Epic Games Store, you can also find AntStream Arcade on Steam.
The Antstream “experience” is more than just classic games. The service also features:
- CHALLENGES – Play the games with a special twist! One life only, don’t miss a shot, highest score in 1 minute, and many more!
- LEADERBOARDS – Nothing like beating high scores and sitting on top of the leaderboards!
- TOURNAMENTS – Enter our limited-time tournaments and beat the very best to win prizes in-game!
