Esports Technologies Secures U.K. Gaming License

On December 7th, Esports Technologies Inc. announced it had secured access to a gaming license in the United Kingdom through an operator services agreement that was signed around the same time the company acquired Aspire Global’s business-to-consumer (B2C) assets for almost $76 million. Through this deal, Esports Technologies gained 1.25 million deposited customers, most of which are from UK-based sportsbooks and casino brands.

“Gaining access to this UK gaming license is a massive strategic milestone for Esports Technologies,” said Bart Barden, the COO of Esports Technologies. “We’re thrilled about this highly lucrative gaming market, and we look forward to bringing our portfolio of esports products to the UK.”

Other brands acquired included BetTarget, Dansk777, and GenerationVIP. During the 12-month period that ended in September of 2021, these organizations recorded $1.86 billion in bets and $183 million in cash deposits.

After this licensing announcement was made, Esports Technologies’ stocks increased by 5% on December 7th. Shares in the company rose by an additional 3% the very next day on December 8th.
