Excel Esports has teamed up with HyperX and Beyond NRG to launch a new Fortnite tournament, the XL Community Cup. The one-day tournament, which was hosted by Adam Savage live from the Ginx TV London studios, was held on November 28th following the qualifiers on November 24th. In collaboration with Ginx TV, Excel streamed the event with a live broadcast as well as multi-language streams hosted by various personalities participating in the event.

“At Excel Esports we aspire to build better communities and include every gaming enthusiast in our journey,” said Wouter Sleijffers, CEO of Excel. “We are proud to announce the launch of the XL Community Cup. Working closely with HyperX and Beyond NRG, we all share similar beliefs and values in supporting UK gamers and the Fortnite community and I look forward to seeing similar tournaments being created to help support this ongoing effort.”

Excel’s pro players Wolfiez and Verox were partnered up with some famous faces from the world of sports and entertainment on the day. Those who took part include UK TikToker Ollie Ball, streamer and influencer TurntDaisy, pro Rugby Union player Luke Cowan-Dickie, and Fortnite professional Archie King. Fortnite streamer and French co-streamer JoLavanille, French pro Andilex, HyperX ambassador Rewinside, and German pro Fray were also in attendance.

With an overarching goal to help further support UK gamers and the ever-growing Fortnite community, the XL Community Cup will also be raising money for charity SpecialEffect, which specializes in helping physically-challenged people enjoy the magic of video games. The charity also collaborates with game studios to make their video games more accessible.
