Riot Games Purchases Seattle Office Location For Over $114M

On December 9th, Riot Games announced it had acquired a new physical office space near Seattle that is based in Mercer Island, Washington. According to GeekWire, Riot paid $114.1 million for the Mercer Park Workplace office building.

This acquisition will be the fourth hub created by Riot Games in the United States. In a press release, the organization said that it plans on employing over 400 staffers in the 156,000-square-foot facility.

“This expansion is part of our global approach to game development. Earlier this year, we also announced the expansion of our Shanghai offices into a global R&D studio… We’d say we’re looking forward to being sleepless in Seattle but we much prefer well-rested Rioters and ‘Well-Rested in Seattle’ just doesn’t make for a good movie title,” the company said in an announcement.

Riot now has over 20 office locations around the globe. The organization said it has plans to continue expanding throughout this year and 2022.
