Co-Streaming Feature Unveiled By Facebook Gaming

A co-streaming feature was recently added to Facebook Gaming. Unlike Twitch’s co-streaming project (Squad Stream), this program is available to all Facebook users.

“Gaming has always been better together,” the social media giant said in a blog post. “So, today we are very excited to announce the launch of co-streaming on Facebook Gaming to all of our gaming video creators. Based on community feedback, we heard that co-streaming would greatly improve the creator streaming experience. With co-streaming, creators can stream with one another concurrently, allowing viewers to navigate easily between the co-streams to watch from different perspectives. With co-streaming, we aim to increase discoverability for creators, encourage collaboration between creators and elevate the overall viewing experience for everyone.”

Gaming content creators will be able to search and tag up to three other gamers during streams. These individuals can be selected from the live producer left rail (when going live) and the live producer gaming tab.

The co-streaming options can be changed at any time during broadcasts. Furthermore, the co-streaming viewership experience will start once other creators tag the original streamer back. As soon as a green checkmark appears next to the users’ names, the streaming process will begin.
