Indian Gaming Market Booming

The gaming sector in India reached $930 million in 2020, showing a growth rate of 41% from 2014, which was approximately $350 million, according to the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency. This makes India the fourth most profitable gaming market in the world. Furthermore, the gaming industry is expected to generate a revenue of $3.9 billion by the end of 2025.

India has made huge strides in improving internet speed, and, as a result, mobile gaming has gone through the roof. As an entertainment source without expensive consoles or setup, mobile games have opened the door for several start-ups and Indie companies to create fun games for Indian and global users. Currently, there are more than 450 gaming companies operating out of India.

The rise in AAA game production houses in India is another big reason for the growth of the Indian gaming market. Multinational companies like EA, Ubisoft, Sumo Video Games, Rockstar Games, and many more already set up their chains in leading metropolitan cities of the country since they have foreseen immense growth and want to be a part of this golden future.

The career opportunities in the gaming market are massive. With developers establishing hubs in India, many jobs have opened up and are paying pretty decent salaries. With all of these new industries flourishing, India should continue to grow and crack the top-three list by 2025.
