The Beijing International College Student Esports Festival was recently held from December 17th to the 19th. During this event, an in-depth report was released that provided an analysis of the Chinese Gaming market.
Based on the report, the Chinese gaming market was valued at $27.36 billion this year. This signifies a 130.8% increase in size year-on-year when compared to 2020. Additionally, the study showed that the Chinese market is expected to grow over the coming years.
“Currently China’s esports talent development faces some issues, for example, the training system needs to be further improved, the practice-focused education needs to be enriched… and the social recognition for esports needs to be increased. Universities and the esports sector enterprises should join hands to strengthen the integration of industry-university-research (IUR) cooperation,” said Duan Peng, the Vice President of the Communication University of China.
This year marked the second edition of the Beijing International College Student Esports Festival. This year’s event was co-organized by Huya Inc. and the Communication University of China.
