Dubit Secures $8M For Metaverse Esports League

The video game studio Dubit recently announced that it had secured $8 million in a recent funding round. This money will be used to launch a metaverse esports league within the hit platform Roblox.

This round of funding was led by Metaventures with additional participation coming from the French investor Jean-Charles Capelli. Through this funding, Dubit will be able to launch the Metaverse Gaming League, which will host events on Roblox before expanding into other titles such as Minecraft.

“Dubit is in the perfect position to take advantage of the new opportunities in the metaverse. No other company has 20 years experience in developing and launching virtual worlds, combined with a great network of brands and organizations that it works with around the world,” said Capelli. “As an entrepreneur and musician, I’m proud to invest in Dubit, and I’m excited to help scale users of Roblox and other metaverses.”

The Metaverse Gaming League is currently in its beta phase. It regularly hosts esports events across multiple titles within the Roblox gaming platform. After collaborating with companies like Disney and Facebook, the league plans on hosting other branded events alongside esports tournaments.
