Wolf3D Secures $13M In Funding For Ready Player Me

Wolf3D recently announced that it closed a $13 million funding round for Ready Player Me, the company’s metaverse avatar platform. The organization plans to use these funds to establish Ready Player Me as “the default avatar system for the metaverse.”

Taavet+Sten led this funding round. Additional participation came from Konvoy Ventures, NordicNinja, and Tom Preston-Werner, the co-founder of Github.

“2021 has been a breakout year for Ready Player Me – our avatar platform adoption has grown from 25 to 900 companies,” said Timmu Tõke, the CEO of Ready Player Me. “By giving people avatars that travel across virtual worlds, we can make the metaverse more connected. The metaverse is not one place or platform, it’s a network of thousands of experiences. With the funding, we will scale our partner network further and will build out monetization tools for developers to help them make money with avatar customization assets and NFT’s. Our goal is to become the default system for the metaverse.”

Ready Player Me is an organization that aims to offer users customized avatars that can be utilized across the metaverse. Ready Player Me avatars can currently be used in over 900 apps and games.
