Most-Viewed Esports Events And Highest Prize Pools Of 2021

Now that we are well into 2022, we can take a look back at all the major esports events from last year. Dot Esports recently published articles highlighting the largest esports prize pools and the most-watched esports events of 2021.

The International 10 had the largest prize pool of any 2021 esports event at $40 million. In second place was the PUBG Global Invitational.S 2021, which boasted a $7 million prize pool. With a $3.2 million prize pool, the Overwatch League 2021 Playoffs came in third place followed by The Six Invitational 2021, which had a $3 million prize pool. The League of Legends World Championship, which had a prize pool of $2.225 million, placed fifth on the list.

Meanwhile, the League of Legends World Championship was the most-viewed esports event of 2021 with over 4 million peak concurrent viewers. Season 2 of the Call of Duty: Mobile Masters China came in second with the Free Fire World Series placing third. The PGL Stockholm Major was the fourth most-watched esports event of the past year.
