Riot Games Shutting Down Pro View For League Of Legends

Riot Games recently announced it would be shutting down its Pro View feature for League of Legends next month. The organization revealed that the viewer subscription service will be officially terminated on February 1st, 2022 due to “a lack of interest in the service as a stand-alone subscription-based program,” according to Dot Esports.

“With Pro View, we wanted to offer our fans a unique and personalized esports viewing experience. While we initially saw interest in the POV feeds, we did not see a strong interest in Pro View as a stand-alone subscription service. Our goal is to listen to fan feedback and continue to explore the best ways to deliver content and a multiview experience going forward, but for now, we’ll be sunsetting the existing product,” reads a post when you first enter the LoL Pro View website. “We want to thank our fans and players for their understanding and continued support for LoL Esports.”

Pro View was created to provide fans with an enhanced competitive LoL viewing experience. If users paid the $14.99 subscription fee, they were given access to POV feeds and in-depth replays of every official LoL esports match.

If you recently purchased a subscription to Pro View, you are not out of luck just yet. Riot Games has said that payment and subscription purchases made after December 31st, 2021 will be refunded.
