This Activision Blizzard sale is so much of the gaming news going on lately and it’s easy to see why. Anything that costs $70 billion is obviously something worth getting excited about, especially when you realize the potential of this deal. One person who’s really excited? Xbox boss, Phil Spencer. Speaking with the Washington Post, Spencer revealed just how much it means to acquire these big titles from Activision Blizzard, and how he is not gonna let them go to waste.
“I was looking at the IP list, I mean, let’s go!,” Spencer exclaimed, while outlining his vision for reviving some titles and expanding on other, more popular titles.
Besides his obvious elation from adding franchises like Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and Starcraft, he specifically mentioned Guitar Hero and Spyro the Dragon as titles he’d like to bring back. And for those of you old enough to have played either of these, the excitement is palpable.
This just goes to show you how much $70 mil can really buy. There is so much that Microsoft can do with this newfound wealth of IP’s, and luckily it seems like they plan on milking it.
