Nintendo recently blocked people from viewing hundreds of YouTube videos because these pieces of media reportedly contain copyrighted music from various games. The GilvaSunner YouTube channel had over 1,300 videos blocked in a single day by the gaming giant.
The YouTube channel was flagged by Nintendo for using music from some of the company’s most popular titles in its videos. Some of the game soundtracks that have been blocked from use include Super Smash Bros. Melee, Luigi’s Mansion, Kirby’s Dream Land, Super Mario Galaxy, and so on.
The GilvaSunner YouTube channel was launched in October of 2010. Since then, the content creator has amassed over 1.55 billion video views.
The Profit‘s Take:
At some point, Nintendo’s goodwill is going to run dry. Then they will become either an acquisition target or a failed company. Change has to come to Nintendo. They cannot continue like this.
