On February 9th, BAYZ announced that it had appointed Gui Barbosa as the company’s managing director. In this role, Barbosa will be tasked with understanding the global gaming ecosystem and coming up with campaigns that fuel both content consumption and user engagement.
“Gui’s expertise and knowledge of the gaming market and relationship with leading publishers and game developers are matched only by his passion for gaming and esports,” said Matt “MobileMatt” Rutledge, a Co-Founder of BAYZ. “We know that he will have an immediate impact on our business and expand our ability to bring play-to-earn opportunities to gamers on a global scale.”
Gui Barbosa comes into this role with an extensive background in the technology entertainment industry. Before joining BAYZ, Barbosa was the head of gaming partnerships for TikTok in Latin America. He recently served as the head of global business development for ByteDance, the company that developed TikTok and Douyin. Barbosa has also worked for other big gaming businesses like Krafton and nøline.
BAYZ is a Brazilian decentralized autonomous organization that aims to create more metaverse experiences through the use of blockchain technologies and play-to-earn mechanics. BAYZ has already established partnerships with major metaverse-based entities like Axie Infinity, The Sandbox, and Ember Sword.
