Zotac Gaming Malaysia recently joined forces with the nut butter producer Jobbie to launch a special line of food products for gamers called Jobbie Pong. And, if that wasn’t enough, they’re also releasing a PC Case Diorama with shelves to hold Jobbie Pong products.
“‘ZOTAC GAMING x JOBBIE PONG’ is the world’s first peanut butter that is crafted specially for gamers,” reads Zotac’s official announcement. “Made of mouth-watery roasted peanuts, authentic dried blueberries, and strawberries, berry lovers should never miss out on this amazing mixture. This unique concoction will give you a burst in energy, with each crunch giving you the power you need to dominate the battlefield. This peanut energy crunch is meant to be eaten directly like an energy bar but from a spoon.”
Jobbie Pong is a limited-edition product. There will only be 1,000 units available for purchase. Individual jars have a starting price of roughly $13.39.
The Profit‘s Take:
Gamer food you basically have to eat with a spoon out of a jar. Are we going to see a whole category of food for gaming? Gaming food today is something you can eat while keeping your hands clean. But here’s where it gets interesting. The metaverse requires people to put things on their faces, and keep their hands free so that they can plug in and really experience VR, AR, etc. Will the metaverse cause us to think about food differently? Will we have to think about food consumption in a totally different way in these virtual/digital worlds? This is an innovation that only gaming can bring. PB&J has been a staple of food in the U.S. for 100 years. Yet, nobody thought to combine these things in an organic way? I love this.
