F1 Esports’ 2021 Season Breaks Viewership And Engagement Records

Formula 1 recently announced the organization’s 2021 F1 Esports Series broke records for both viewership and engagement. This news came following the announcement of F1’s 2021 audience and attendance figures which were revealed on February 17th, 2022.

Overall the 2021 F1 Esports Series presented by Aramco saw over 23 million viewers across all digital platforms. This represents a massive growth of 103% year on year. The series’ flagship event, the Pro Championship, accounted for 13.8 million views, which was a 47% increase from 2020.

Social media engagement also experienced impressive growth when compared to 2020. Pro Championship events generated 10.5 million engagements through F1’s official Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, and Huya accounts. This content also led to over 458 million impressions along with 4.1 million video views.

The F1 Esports Series Pro Championship presented by Aramco is expected to return in the second half of this year. The organization hopes it can top 2021’s numbers, which saw over 494,000 participants attempt to qualify for the Pro Championship Series.
