Pan Africa Gaming Group Aims To Grow Esports On The Continent

The Pan Africa Gaming Group officially launched on February 23rd, 2022. This organization, which is comprised of ten different companies, aims to aid in the growth of Africa’s esports and gaming ecosystem. In fact, the Pan Africa Gaming Group is looking to double the size of the African gaming community every year.

The companies that make up the PAGG include Sea Monster, Kayfo games, Kiro’o Games, Leti Arts, Digital Mania, Qene Games, Usiku Games, Khanga Rue, DopeApps, and Messeka Games. According to VentureBeat, these businesses do not have a big enough market presence individually to impact the region’s gaming ecosystem. However, by coming together, the PAGG will provide these entities with the proper scale and talent pool to grow the regional gaming community on a global level.

The PAGG will be governed by a council of founders that will be made up of some of the continent’s top gaming entrepreneurs. Peter Kihara will be the group chief financial officer while Jake Manion will serve as the group creative director.

“Together, we represent over 200 professionals and eight different languages,” said Dawit Abraham, the CEO of Qene Games, in a statement. ”Our team has over 30 years of experience, leading some of the top gaming companies globally, including Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, and Aardman Animation. We have produced more mobile, PC, and console games than anyone else on the continent. Most importantly, all of our network members are committed to #GamingForGood, harnessing the power of gamification to create a positive social impact in our local communities.”
