Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Set To Come Out Later This Year

The journey to becoming a Pokémon master never ends. The adventure will continue soon now that The Pokémon Company announced it would be releasing the ninth generation of Pokémon games: Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.

This comes after a trailer for the two games was posted to YouTube on February 27th, 2022. The video describes Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet as an “open-world adventure,” suggesting that these upcoming titles will stray away from the typical Pokémon game formula.

We also got our first look at the three starter Pokémon for generation nine. There’s Fuecoco (the fire croc Pokémon), Sprigatito (the grass cat Pokémon), and Quaxly (the water-type duckling Pokémon).

This announcement comes on the heels of a very busy six-month period for The Pokémon Company. In November of 2021, the organization released Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl for the Nintendo Switch, serving as a remake of the Nintendo DS games that came out in the early-2010’s. And, if that wasn’t enough, the company just launched Pokémon Legends: Arceus in January.

An official release date for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet has not been announced. However, these games are expected to come out sometime later this year.
