Ubisoft Exec Joins Nevada’s Esports Technical Advisory Committee

The Nevada Gaming Control Board recently chose a well-known executive from the video game industry to join the state’s new Esports Technical Advisory Committee. It was announced that late last month, Che Chou, who is the senior director of esports for Ubisoft Entertainment, had been approved as the eighth member of the Nevada esports board.

This entity is currently comprised of several individuals from the gaming industry, including publishers, developers, and broadcasters. These people will advise the control board on the facilitation of esports betting as well as the integrity of gaming competitions.

Che Chou was an ideal candidate to join the board with over 20 years of experience in the gaming industry. Besides Ubisoft, Chou has also held high-0ranking positions at other big-name companies like Blizzard Entertainment and Microsoft.

“Mr. Chou is passionate about the intersection of esports and gaming, and has a deep understanding of esports strategies, ecosystems, and community building”, the board said in a statement.

The advisory committee held its first hearing on March 1st and will meet on a quarterly basis throughout the year. Members that have been appointed to the board will maintain their positions until November of 2024.
