Dwight Howard, The Los Angeles Lakers, And Xbox Team Up To Create A Gaming Space For Kids In L.A.

On March 3rd, NBAer Dwight Howard announced he had joined forces with the Los Angeles Lakers, and Xbox to remodel part of the Boys & Girls Club of San Fernando Valley. This initiative will see the program’s new room, which has been dubbed the Dream Space, transformed into a Los Angeles Lakers gaming oasis.

The makeover will include revamping the multipurpose room into a technologically-advanced gaming lab that can fit up to 20 students. Moreover, all devices and products in the venue will be outfitted with the Lakers’ logos and signature colors.

“Kids are so innocent,” Howard told Yahoo! Sports. “They have so many things they wonder and think about daily, and when hearing their perspective on life, it definitely inspires me and motivates me to continue to push forward with basketball and give it my all.”

The SFV Boys & Girls Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the educational, social, and character development of people in California between the ages of six and 17. To date, the SFV Boys & Girls Club serves over 2,500 children across 15 neighborhoods in the Los Angeles area.
