ESPORTSU, a college gaming brand owned by CSMG, recently announced details for the inaugural Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup (CECC) event. We now know that the competition will be held in Atlanta, Georgia from May 6th to May 8th at the Gateway Center Arena.
64 teams will be competing across multiple titles at CECC 2022, which will also feature a career fair and networking opportunities. According to a press release from CECC, this is expected to be the “largest collegiate esports event ever.”
“CECC is dedicated solely to the development of collegiate esports and student-athletes, which we believe are the workforce and talent of the future,” said Angela Bernhard Thomas, the EVP of ESPORTSU at CSMG. “We will put students center stage to not only showcase their competitive skills but through alliances and partnerships with other industry leaders, create an electric festival atmosphere to celebrate them and all things gaming and esports.”
Students taking two-year and four-year courses will be eligible to qualify for the event via regional invitational tournaments. Additionally, coverage of the CECC will be broadcast on ESTV and the ESPORTSU Twitch channel.
