Riot Games recently unveiled a five-year partnership with the world-famous bank Santander in a deal that will provide coverage for the entire League of Legends esports scene in Brazil. Moving forward, Santander’s branding will be a prominent part of all officially sponsored League of Legends events that take place in the South American country. This means that Santander will now be featured during the Brazilian League of Legends Championship and the series’ Academy Division. On top of that, Santander will be a premier sponsor of all Brazilian LOL broadcasts including the Mid-Season Invitational and the League of Legends World Championship.
“The partnership with CBLOL represents a great milestone for Santander, which enters with all its might in one of the most traditional eSports championships in Brazil. We will walk side by side with gamers, both professionals and amateurs, as well as those who work to be a pro player in electronic sports. We are not here just to be just another sponsor, but also to contribute to the CBLOL Academy and, respectively, to the Brazilian eSports scenario,” said, Danielle Sardenberg, the Executive Superintendent of Marketing for Santander.
This new partnership between Riot and Santander debuted on Saturday, April 23rd during the finals of the current CBLOL split which featured Red Canids Kalunga and paiN Gaming. Santander also served as the event’s presenting sponsor and was even responsible for announcing the match’s MVP.
According to Esports Insider, more activations are expected to take place between Santander and the Brazilian League of Legends Championship during the second half of this year. Santander is no stranger to the world of esports. Since June of 2021, the bank has served as an official sponsor of Furia, a world-famous gaming organization that also operates out of Brazil.
