The University of Warwick was named the Esports University of the Year in the United Kingdom! This comes after the school placed first in the British University Esports Championship for the 2021-22 academic year.
This event is hosted annually by the tournament organizer NSE as part of a partnership with BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport). What makes this victory all the more impressive is that this is the fourth year in a row that the University of Warwick has taken home the title!
The University of Warwick earned 4,036 points during the event, which was over a thousand more points than their total in last year’s competition. Overall, the University of Warwick was named the best esports university in all of England for the 2021-22 season.
Loughborough University came in second place on the list followed by the University of Portsmouth in third place. Durham University came in fourth place, and University College-London came in fifth.
The University of Warwick is a public research institute that was founded in 1965 and is based out of Coventry, England. The university’s esports teams compete in several hit video game titles including Dota, Rainbow Six Siege, Overwatch, Rocket League, CS:GO, VALORANT, and League of Legends.
