Esports organization Gen.G announced that they have opened up scholarship applications for women, people of color, and low income students enrolled in a university or college and are interested in a career in esports.
Gen.G says that they will select ten students from across the US to receive a $10,000 grant to pursue their dreams through education. The company added that it has committed to spending $100,000 in scholarships annually for the next ten years.
“In this third year of the Gen.G Foundation, we are proud to renew our pledge to promote inclusion and diversity within the esports and gaming industry,” said Gina Chung Lee, CMO of Gen.G. “We are excited to see the talented student pool this year; every class has impressed us with their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, and we expect that 2022 will be no different.”
Since its founding in 2020, Gen.G has remained committed and dedicated to improving diversity, inclusion, and representation through strategic programming and partnerships. In addition to the $10,000 grant each student will receive, Gen.G plans to provide them with resources, knowledge, and connections that will prepare them for futures in the gaming industry.
The application process will close on June 15th, with the winners to be announced in September.
