Volvo has partnered with Epic Games to use the latter’s Unreal Engine in helping them develop their next-gen electric vehicles. The Swedish car manufacturer plans to introduce photorealistic technology in the cars to produce high-quality graphics inside the cabin.
Volvo said they will be using Epic’s Unreal Engine to develop interfaces inside the electric vehicles.
This collaboration makes Volvo the first European automaker to use Unreal Engine to create Human Machine Interface. This technology is primarily focused on the Driver Information Module, one of the displays inside the cabin, which will provide the driver with relevant information and infotainment features.
