GamePort Returns To Louisiana For Its Second Year

For the second year in a row, GamePort will return to Shreveport, Louisiana to give the locals a taste of vintage gaming, history, and science. GamePort will be held at the Sci-Port Discovery Center all summer, and will feature activities ranging from Space Invaders and LEGO builds to Simon Says.

“Gaming incorporates many aspects of STEM,” said Dianne Clark, Director of the Sci-Port Discovery Center. “We are building skills. We are building the necessary skills for kids who want to survive in the world of game design.”

According to Clark, GamePort was created to support local school esports leagues and show kids how games can lead to careers. GamePort also features exhibits on gaming history, even showcasing consoles from past to present. It will have something for everybody, no matter what age you are.

GamePort will be open all summer, Wednesday-Saturday from 9am to 5pm, and Sundays from noon to 5pm.
