This Gaming Studio Wants To Help Kids Learn Through Play

Toronto-based start-up Pok Pok is looking to give young children a different kind of mobile game with their first title launch. The award-winning Pok Pok Playroom is a play-based learning mobile iOS game for kids aged 2-6, and is designed to encourage children to become “creative, out of the box thinkers.” Besides being an educational tool, Pok Pok Playroom is also a fun and entertaining game, which features a bevy of digital toys for children to choose from.

“Kids under five learn best through play,” said Melissa Cash, CEO and Co-Founder of Pok Pok.

The start-up recently closed a $3 million seed funding round led by Konvoy, with additional funds coming from Initial Capital and other undisclosed angel investors. Pok Pok says they plan to use the new capital to invest in research and development, as they look to add more toys to the game.

Pok Pok Playroom is available on both iPhone and iPad. After a free seven-day trial, you can subscribe for just $4 a month or $30 annually.
