It was recently announced that a new game based on the Alien movie franchise will be coming out on consoles, PCs, and virtual reality platforms. In a July 14th blog post, Survios Studios announced it was teaming up with 20th Century Games to “develop an intense single-player action horror game set in the iconic Alien universe.”
For those of you that are unfamiliar with Survios, their development company is responsible for VR games like Creed: Rise to Glory, Raw Data, and Sprint Vector.
In the aforementioned blog post, Survios said that this untitled project, which is being created using Unreal Engine 5, will feature an original storyline that takes place between the events of the first and second movies in the franchise. While not much is known about the actual plot of the game, Survios wrote that this will be a title “where a battle-hardened veteran has a vendetta against Xenomorphs.”
Amazingly, this is not the only Aliens-themed video game that was recently announced. In fact, a single-player game called Aliens: Dark Descent was revealed to the world back on June 9th during the Summer Game Fest.
It seems like people just can’t get enough of the Alien movie franchise these days. Hopefully, these titles will be able to build on the success of 2014’s Alien: Isolation.
