Another video game is coming to the small-screen, and this time the honor goes to Grounded, which will be adapted by Star Wars: Clone Wars writer Brent Friedman and director Brien Goodrich.
The upcoming series, which exists in the same universe as the game, follows four high school friends planning “big things” to elevate their social standing, but find their plans shot when they stumble upon shrinking technology that makes them all two inches tall. Now the four friends must learn to survive in a humongous backyard which includes enormous predators and also hides as a vast corporate conspiracy which threatens the entire town.
“We couldn’t be more excited about diving into the whimsical universe of Grounded,” said Tina Chow, CEO, Bardel Entertainment. “This partnership will be one of great collaboration, expanding on an already wonderful journey of exploration and adventure.”
Grounded is being adapted by Xbox and Obsidian Entertainment, in association with Waterproof Studios/SC Productions, Kinetic Media, and Bardel Entertainment. It is currently in pre-production.
