Saint Augustine’s University Forms Partnership With VR Motion Learning

Saint Augustine’s University (SAU) has partnered with virtual reality tennis developer VR Motion Learning. Per the deal, both sides will collaborate on product validation and testing, integrating the Tennis Esports VR tennis platform into the school’s sport management curriculum and virtual sports program, and developing collegiate VR tennis competitions in the US.

“We are so excited to be a part of SAU’s virtual sports program,” said Dr. Gregory Gettinger, Founder and CEO of VR Motion Learning. “They truly are leading the way in providing viable access for kids to learn and enjoy tennis where previously, this may not have been an option due to cost, space, or other barriers.”

SAU, a historically black college or university (HBCU), started its virtual sports program during the 2021 spring semester. It has since joined the National Collegiate Virtual Sports Association, and currently competes in virtual cycling, rowing, gold, tennis, and motorsport events.
