It was recently announced that Logitech is joining forces with Tencent to create a dedicated cloud gaming handheld console that will be coming out later this year. According to a landing page created by Logitech, the device is currently being called the Logitech G Gaming Handheld.
As Logitech said in an announcement, “the system will be able to quote support multiple cloud gaming services.” Kris Holt, a contributing reporter for Yahoo Finance, said that Tencent and Logitech are already working with Microsoft and NVIDIA to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce Now support to the device.
Ujesh Desai, the general manager of Logitech G, explained why it was a no-brainer for the company to team up with Tencent:
“As one of the leading global platforms for game development, publishing, and operations, Tencent Games has been at the forefront of innovation, and it’s why we partnered with them. As someone that grew up playing video games, the idea of being able to stream and play triple-A games almost anywhere is super exciting, and we can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on.”
At this time, the device does not have a specified release date. However, you can sign up for email updates regarding the product by visiting https://t.email.logitechg.com/lp/cloud-updates.
