On August 9th, XSET and company co-owner Erin Ashley Simon announced the expansion of the Erin Ashley Simon Internship Fund which is based out of the University of Kentucky. As a result, the fund has grown to $5,000.
The Erin Ashley Simon Internship fund was established as a way for interested students to find careers in the esports and gaming industries. Additionally, XSET and Erin Ashley Simon plan on working together to bring in more funding for the internship from well-known companies and influencers.
“I want more aspiring professionals who want to get into this industry to have all the tools and resources they need to make that happen,” said Simon. “There are a lot of industries out there who are curious about gaming, but I’m encouraging all of them to stop eyeing and get involved with the fund. This is the perfect opportunity for non-endemic companies to see and understand the growth of this industry and the people who make it move.”
Applications for the 2022-2023 academic year were open up until recently. However, the registration window for the internship closed on August 22nd, 2022.
