The multinational technology company NVIDIA is expected to unveil its Q2 2022 financial results any day now. However, the recent release of the organization’s preliminary numbers shows that NVIDIA has taken a hit lately, specifically in its gaming business.
Gaming revenues for the organization topped out at about $2.04 billion during this quarter according to The Verge. While this may sound like a lot, it’s actually a 33.3% dropoff from 2021 when the company generated $3.06 billion through gaming.
NVIDIA’s struggles are reflective of a bigger issue currently taking place in the gaming industry. After all, NPD is reporting that gaming sales have fallen by roughly 13% in the second quarter of this year.
Despite this poor showing, it’s not all doom and gloom for the gaming sector. AMD’s gaming unit saw revenues increase by almost 32% year-over-year.
