On August 18th, Konami announced it had extended its partnership with the world-famous soccer team Arsenal FC. This “long-term” extension will see the two work together as partners from the 2022-23 season onwards.
This deal will see Arsenal become one of the major clubs available and playable in Konami’s soccer simulation game eFootball. Meanwhile, Konami will continue serving as the organization’s official football video gaming partner with team jerseys featuring eFootball‘s logo and branding.
Beyond that, Konami and eFootball‘s branding will be prominently featured on the headrests of seats located in Emirates Stadium as well as in the venue’s home and away dugouts. Moreover, Arsenal will continue to take part in Konami esports competitions, including the eFootball Championship Pro Series.
“Konami’s eFootball provides a unique football experience. We’re proud to extend our partnership and give our supporters the opportunity to immerse themselves in an authentic Arsenal experience,” said Arsenal’s Chief Commercial Officer, Juliet Slot. “Arsenal and Konami both aspire to be at the forefront of fan engagement. I’m excited for us to work together to strengthen our collaboration and take our partnership to a new level, building on our shared values and giving our supporters more great opportunities to connect with their club.”
Arsenal has been working with Konami for quite some time now. The two sides first agreed to partner with one another back in 2017.
