In August, Dr Disrespect’s fans reportedly accused Call of Duty developers of releasing a skin that was very similar to the design of a character featured in promotional material for Midnight Society’s first game DEADROP. In fact, the designs were so alike that studio head Robert Bowling said Call of Duty devs should “at least name it after me.”
At the time, The Doc elected not to comment on the situation. However, he has since changed his tune, slamming Call of Duty during a recent stream, accusing them of stealing more than just that character’s design.
First, Dr Disrespect slammed Call of Duty: Warzone claiming it’s a game that he has “checked out of.” After that, he declared it was something that he was “not interested” in and that it’s “ugly looking.” After attacking Warzone, The Doc dropped a bombshell accusation.
“They stole a fiction for one of our concept arts just like they stole the fiction of one of our characters,” he said during the stream. He then went on to describe the COD dev team as “a bunch of slimy guys” that he didn’t like one bit.
This skin, which can be found in Vanguard and Warzone, was reportedly developed by Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software. At this time, neither organization has responded to these accusations.
