On September 8th, the gaming and lifestyle brand XSET announced that it had promoted its Chief Merchandising Officer, Steve Birkhold, to the position of Chief Operating Officer. This comes a couple of weeks after the organization introduced Erin Ashley Simon as its newest Chief Culture Officer.
In this new role, Birkhold will use his leadership experience to “evolve the day-to-day” functions of XSET. In his previous position, Steve Birkhold helped establish the company’s fashion and merchandising business units alongside co-founder Wil Eddins.
“In the early stages of the organization, we are committed to building out the best executive team possible for XSET,” said Greg Selkoe, the co-founder of XSET. “Steve and Erin have both been integral in the early development stages of the company and we know that they will continue to do even more in key management positions to accelerate the next stages of XSET.”
Founded in 2020, XSET has emerged as one of the preeminent esports organizations in North America. The Business of Esports’ own Jimmy Baratta has served as a private investor for XSET since the organization was launched almost three years ago.
