Is Verizon Working On A Handheld Gaming Device?

It sounds like Verizon wants to enter the ever-growing handheld video game console space. This comes after the organization announced on September 28th that it was working on a new device with Razer and Qualcomm.

Dubbed the Razer Edge 5G, this handheld gaming device will run on Android, meaning users will be able to stream games locally while also being given access to several cloud gaming services, including Xbox Cloud Gaming. On top of that, the product will be built on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G3X Gen 1 Gaming Platform.

This device will be officially announced at RazerCon 2022 on October 15th. At that time, we expect to have a lot more information about the product, including a potential price point and release date.

The Profit‘s Take:

Unlike the Logitech device, which was total crap, this will be able to play games locally, which is a small improvement. It feels like everybody is trying to copy the Steam Deck. I don’t see how all of these handhelds will succeed.
