According to gaming industry insider Jaz Corden, Mojang Studios is reportedly working on a new Minecraft game that isn’t tied to Minecraft Dungeons or the upcoming Minecraft Legends. This information was first revealed by Corden during an episode of The Xbox Two Podcast.
Corden was asked by fans what he was expecting from the upcoming Minecraft Live event. He responded by saying that the development company is “working on another Minecraft game that isn’t Minecraft Legends or Minecraft Dungeons.” He concluded his statement by saying he has “no idea what it is. But, I do know that there is another Minecraft spin-off in development, right now.”
While it’s possible that the title could be officially announced at the Minecraft Live event on October 15th, Corden believes that’s unlikely because the game is still too early in its development cycle for Mojang to unveil it.
This would be the third official Minecraft spin-off. The first spin-off game, Minecraft Dungeons, came out in May 2020.
Meanwhile, the second spin-off, Minecraft Legends, is scheduled to come out sometime next year. And, as DualShockers said, it “seems unlikely” that Mojang would release two spin-offs of the same game in one year.
