NVIDIA Changing Plans With RTX 4080 Graphics Cards

On October 14th, NVIDIA announced that it was “unlaunching” its RTX 4080 12GB graphics cards. Previously, the organization was planning on releasing two versions of its RTX 4080 graphics cards next month: a 12 GB device and a 16 GB device. However, the company will now only be releasing the 16 GB model in November.

“The RTX 4080 12GB is a fantastic graphics card, but it’s not named right. Having two GPUs with the 4080 designation is confusing,” the company said in a blog post. “So, we’re pressing the ‘unlaunch’ button on the 4080 12GB… If the lines around the block and enthusiasm for the 4090 is any indication, the reception for the 4080 will be awesome.”

Regardless, gamers will still be able to upgrade their experiences by getting their hands on a 16 GB version of the RTX 4080 when it comes out on November 16th. That product will cost roughly $1,200.
