Konami Has Its Eyes On The Metaverse

On October 13th, Konami Digital Entertainment announced plans to begin recruiting people to work on its Web3 and metaverse development team. The organization is planning on building a virtual blockchain-based world to compete with other technology giants like Meta.

“Konami Digital Entertainment announces that we will be recruiting a wide range of talent for ‘system construction’ and ‘service development’ to provide new experiences such as Web3 and Metaverse,” reads an official news release from the business. “We have been conducting research and development to incorporate the latest technology into games and contents, and plan to launch a service where players can trade their in-game NFTs (digital items) through a unique distribution platform using blockchain.”

This is not the first time that Konami has tried its hand in the Web3 space. Previously, the company launched a selection of Castlevania NFTs to mark the series’ 35th anniversary.

Konami is reportedly looking to hire 13 people across the company’s three divisions including its Infrastructure Development Division, its Production & Operation Division, and its Production Support Division. If you are interested in applying for any of these jobs, click here.
