Former YouTube Executive Joins Twitch

The world-famous streaming platform Twitch recently announced it had hired former YouTube exec Laura Lee as the company’s new Chief Content Officer. Lee takes over the role following the departure of Mike Aragon from the organization this past January.

As Chief Content Officer, Laure Lee will be in charge of establishing the company’s strategic content vision. Moreover, she will be tasked with leading Twitch’s global teams in areas like partnerships, content strategy, programming, and operations.

“Twitch streamers are some of the most creative and passionate content creators in the world, and our priority is to enable them to build vibrant communities on our service, doing what they love,” said Dan Clancy, the President of Twitch. “We’re thrilled to welcome Laura to our team to define our content strategy and believe that her expertise across digital and premium content will bring fresh perspective to enable us to usher in the next chapter for our global community.”

After originally beginning her professional life in the investment banking industry, Laure Lee spent the next two decades working for several media-centric organizations including Time Warner, NBCUniversal, MTV, Patreon, and Viacom. Most importantly, she spent almost eight years working for YouTube, eventually becoming the Global Head of Top Creators.
