Outsiders Wins CS:GO Major

Another esports world champion has been crowned, this time in CS:GO. November 13th marked the conclusion of the Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2022 Major. It was Russia’s Outsiders that managed to take home the gold.

Outsiders was able to make it past the Challengers Stage after securing three wins against IHC, Team Vitality, and Fnatic. From there, they earned a spot in the Legends Stage, where they once again staved off elimination by going 3-1 after finding victories over Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Spirit, and Mousesports. Unfortunately, they lost to Heroic but still managed to make it to the playoffs.

In the first round of the Champions Stage, Outsiders was again tasked with taking down Fnatic. The spotlight was not too big for the Russian organization, which was able to cleanly sweep Fnatic by a score of two games to none to advance to the semifinals.

In the semis, Outsiders was put up against a familiar foe in Mousesports. Even though it was a back-and-forth series with Mousesports stealing Game Two, Outsiders wound up winning the whole thing and advancing to the grand finals after defeating MOUZ two games to one.

In the final round, Outsiders had a shot at redemption because they would once again face off against Heroic, although this time in a best-of-three series. In the end, Heroic would prove no match for Outsiders, who pulled off the two-game sweep,

As a result, Outsiders is your CS:GO world champion and $500,000 richer. So, let’s all say congrats to Outsiders on its first major victory.
