It was recently announced that NetEase Games had invested in PlayPulse AS, the company behind the PlayPulse One gaming bike. At this time, the amount of funds invested has not been disclosed. However, GamesIndustry.biz is reporting that this money will be used to bring the first PlayPulse ONE exercise bikes to market early next year.
“We are extremely excited to have NetEase Games as an investor and partner in the years to come”, said Erling Magnus Solheim, the CEO of PlayPulse. “They bring vast experience from the gaming industry and have built an active network of the most experienced creators in the market, and together we can bring PlayPulse to a larger audience.”
Upon its release, the exercise bike will come with three games installed on it. The company promises to add a “wide variety of games” later on.
PlayPulse ONE exercise bikes have a starting price of $1,600 for those who pre-order the product and pay for it in full upfront. Besides coming with three video games, this piece of equipment features a built-in touchscreen monitor as well as game controls on the handlebars.
