Xbox fans are not going to be happy about this. Microsoft recently confirmed it would be increasing the price of first-party games and PC titles.
Based on a report from IGN, new first-party titles and PC games will cost $70 instead of $60. These price hikes are expected to take effect next year and will specifically affect games built for the Xbox Series X and S. According to IGN, Forza Motorsport, Redfall, and Starfield are some of the first games that will be subject to this price hike upon their launches.
Xbox did say that regional pricing may differ from country to country. But, the company has not given us any specific details about these price variations at this time.
“This price reflects the content, scale, and technical complexity of these titles,” a Microsoft spokesperson told IGN. “As with all games developed by our teams at Xbox, they will also be available with Game Pass the same day they launch.”
